The Gary Public Transportation Corporation will once again be providing more service for those wishing to get to the Gary Air Show, in a fashion similar to its 2015 efforts.
For the SATURDAY portion of the 2016 Gary Air Show, GPTC’s ROUTE 13 (OAK AND COUNTY LINE RD) will again provide extra trips to Marquette Park, the site of the Air Show.
From 10AM-5PM Saturday July 9, Route 13 will provide HALF-HOUR SERVICE downtown Gary to Miller Beach, leaving the Metro Center at the top, and half past, each hour. Because there is no Sunday service, GPTC will serve the Air Show on Saturday only.
Travelers from west of Gary can board GPTC’s Route 12 (Lakeshore Connection) which serves Hammond and East Chicago. Travelers south of Gary can board Broadway Routes 17 and 18. These regional routes and most of GPTC’s local routes connect with ROUTE 13 at the Metro Center in downtown Gary for traveling to the Air Show. Route 13 also connects to the South Shore commuter line at the Metro Center and Miller Beach stations. Miller Beach residents and visitors can flag down the bus anywhere on its route (below). Check individual schedules for details.
